Kent Leahy-Trill from St. Michaels University School just sent this new edit of Paul O'Brien's premiere of "The Voyageur" which, nicely, removes the long preamble from the previous version and adds some great new shots of the SMUS choir and orchestra.
I am honestly so moved by this tribute that I'm not sure I'll ever get over it. Enjoy!

Well, not really massive in terms of numbers but a good turnout nonetheless for #8 in the speakers series hosted by MASS LBP at the Gilead Café last night and for which I was the guest speaker.
The event was subtitled: Jowi Taylor on the Nature of Canadian Identity. Now, I'm not sure I'm really qualified to address that topic academically speaking but certainly the experience of conceiving, developing and disseminating this project across the country has given me plenty of opportunity to reflect on notions of identity in Canada and to see those ideas reflected back as I encounter people in every province and territory with a story to tell.
Last night was a really great forum in which to combine my usual presentation with a bit of discussion around these issues with an audience that was attuned to the question.
Thanks so everyone who turned out for the talk, to the staff of the Gilead Cafe and especially to Peter MacLeod, Chris Ellis and Morwenna Marwah from MASS LBP for their support. An extra special thanks to Sandy Crawley for his note-perfect guest performance.
